Finally, peace and quiet, sort of...

So, after a long few days, the niece and nephew finally left. They had fun and so did my two bears. BB did pick up a habit that doesn't make me happy. The nephew is a video game addict, so guess what BB wants to do all day. So, all I hear is "Mummy, can I play a video game?" Followed by "I have nothing to do!" said in the whiniest, most pitiful voice you can imagine. Now if you remember, our house looks like a Toys R Us blew up in it! The bears have so many toys that I could entertain the whole city! But he has nothing to do.

We actually had a fun time while they were here. I took all four kids to the pool on Wednesday. The nephew didn't like it because he wanted to come home to play video games. The rest of the kids had a blast! The niece helped BB and GB jump into the pool. She also helped them try to float and swim.

On Thursday, we went to the zoo. So much fun! I love the zoo. I could go by myself and just spend the day looking at the animals. The hubby is not as big of a zoo fan, to say the least. The kids had fun there too. BB and GB were just there about two weeks ago, but still loved it. I guess they got all of my good qualities... ;)

That evening, we showed the niece and nephew around the city a little bit. The niece loves all of the sports teams here and also fell in love with the city. She is not a fan of her small town life.

On Friday, we had a blast at the local amusement park! The only bad part was that BB and GB only ride the rides in kiddie land and the niece and nephew only ride the adult type rides. So, for most of the day, the hubby was with two kids and I was with the other two. We switched about half way through the day so that we each got to ride some of the rides and each got to see our kids ride.

On Saturday, I took the niece and GB to the mall. We did a little shopping and had Ice Cream. The thin mint blizzard at DQ is to die for! That evening, we drove them to meet their parents. We had a yummy dinner with the in laws. I had a really good gyro and the hubby was happy because he had really good wings. According to the hubby, good wings are hard to get around here.

Because the niece and nephew were here, most of the work on the bathroom was postponed. I did get the counter top sealed and my dad and hubby got the sink and faucet installed. So, I guess it's back to working on the bathroom.

At least I can relax now in my house without having to entertain two kids who don't belong to me! Funny thing is, having four kids in the house didn't make me want another baby any less!

Sounds like you had so much fun with your niece and nephew, glad that they got to do so much with you. It is tiring though - having company is tiring but kid company must be twice as tiring!

It was very tiring! I felt like I had to entertain them the whole time.
