A little GB funny.

Today I told GB that I was calling Grandma to see if she could watch GB while I went to the gym. They have a child care room at the gym and GB asked if she could go there. For reasons I have yet to figure out, the child care is closed between 1:00 and 4:00. That's the time that I usually go because it's across the street from BB's school and I drop him off at 12:30. So, after telling her she couldn't go because the child care is closed, she said "Can I go watch you get in square?"
Me: Get in square? What do you mean?
Her: Watch you get in square.
Me: ...........? OH, do you mean get in shape?
Her: Yes, can I watch you get in shape?
Me: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA..... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.....
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

GB found it funny too. I'm not sure that she really got what I was laughing at, but she laughed anyway! Then she went to Grandma's house.

Randomness

First I want to say thanks to those who took the time to try to help out with my dilemma. I think that I know who I am going to vote for. I also used this calculator just for fun and my results agree with what I thought anyway so that was a bonus. So, unless something drastic happens over the next few weeks, I'm good...

I sent a friend an email that I got a few days ago about if the tables were turned regarding the candidates. Such as "What if Obama paraded five kids across the stage (one being a pregnant, unwed teenage daughter)?" or "What if Obama graduated fifth from the bottom of his class?" There was also "What if McCain was a charismatic, eloquent speaker?" and "What is McCain was only married once, and Obama a divorcee?" Then it listed schooling for the candidates:

Barack Obama:
Columbia University - B.A. Political Science with a Specialization in International Relations.
Harvard - Juris Doctor (J.D.) Magna Cum Laude

Joseph Biden:
University of Delaware - B.A. in History and B.A. in Political Science.
Syracuse University College of Law - Juris Doctor (J.D.)
vs.
John McCain:
United States Naval Academy - Class rank: 894 of 899

Sarah Palin:
Hawaii Pacific University - 1 semester
North Idaho College - 2 semesters - general study
University of Idaho - 2 semesters - journalism
Matanuska-Susitna College - 1 semester
University of Idaho - 3 semesters - B.A. in Journalism

Now, this email didn't really sway my opinion either way, but it really made me think. So, as I said, I sent it out saying it was interesting. Well, a friend of mine sent an email to someone else that accidentally was sent to me instead. Basically, she said something to the effect of "Momma Bear sent this to me. This is so ridiculous. I can't believe that she would even take time to send it out. " Then there was some ranting about double standards... I found this really funny! And of course I kind of called her on it! Then she kind of back pedaled and changed the subject to an upcoming wedding that we will both be attending. lol.

On a lighter note, we took the bears to the local farm for the halloween pumpkin festivities. That place was CRAZY! There were so many people there. The bears had fun crawling on all of the pumpkins, playing in corn and hay, and finding their way through the corn maze. Then, of course, they had a bounce house and train... cause that goes right along with the fall festivities right? Anyway, the bears had fun and that's all that matters. That and they got to pick a pumpkin and some gourds.

I took GB to the doctor for her three year checkup. The doctor is sending her back to a pediatric eye doctor. She went for the first time when she was six months old. The doctor had noticed some slight crossing of her one eye and wanted it checked out. The eye doctor cleared her saying that she had "psuedo crossing" which gives the impression that there is slight crossing, but there is really none, but still wanted to see her back in a year just to "make sure." Well, the pediatrition noticed it again, so back we go. This sucks! They did do an eyesight screening there and she's 20/20 in one eye and 20/30 in the other. Most likely there is no problem, according to the doctor. Hopefully she's right.

Well this got longer than I meant for it to be, so if you made it this far, thanks for reading!

My fellow bloggers, I need your help...

I have this dilemma. The election is coming up fast. I don't know how I should vote. I'm to the point where I have said I won't vote. So, here's the situation, tell me what you would do.

The hubby works for a company that is in the nuclear power industry. According to hubby, Obama does not support nuclear energy. The hubby fears that he will lose his job should Obama take office. So, we obviously know who the hubby is voting for. I don't agree with many of McCain's positions. I feel like if I vote for McCain, I will be going against everything I believe in. Besides that, I really, really don't like Palin! But, if I vote Obama, I will vote against my family. I am a stay at home mom. We cannot afford for the hubby to lose his job!

So, please help me with my dilemma! What would you do?

She's three!

GB woke up very excited this morning! It was her birthday and we were having a party. We had 23 people in my little house! Luckily it was very warm and sunny today so we could be outside a lot. GB got a ton of gifts. She loved her cake. We went with a princess theme and I made a Cinderella cake and a carriage cake. They turned out beautiful (if I do say so myself!). And I didn't kill any in-laws! Overall, it was a good day!

And now for the cake:

GB's birthday

GB's birthday is on Sunday. There will be more people at my house than it should comfortably hold. There are still seven people who have not decided if they will grace us with their presence. I started the flowers for the cakes... I'm not nearly as far as I should be on this task. The house is still a mess. The hubby says we will work on that tomorrow, but he doesn't clean it to meet my standards... The presents still need to be wrapped. I still need to buy wrapping paper. Oh, and balloons.

There is a silver lining here... I get the whole day to myself on Saturday to work on the cakes and things! Oh yeah, and GB will be happy! ;)

I took BB shopping last night so he could pick out a gift for GB. I gave him money to pay for it. He thought this was the coolest thing EVER! He bought her a car seat for her doll. She is going to LOVE it! I see in my future: GB strapping baby into said car seat every time we go out. I also see us being late a lot! GB is also getting a dollhouse which she better like because it was super expensive!

Wish me luck... Especially having the in laws in the house. Hopefully they will all make it out alive!

The bathroom

I finally took pictures of the finished bathroom! Keep in mind, it's a small room. It's definitely hard to get a good picture. I am very pleased with the end product. This is kind of a before/ after picture. The pink and blue on the right is the tile color before (and is still in the shower). The browns on the left are the new wall colors.

This is the finished room! Ignore the hair products that have not been put away in the pics! The only thing left to do is hang the towel bar. I'm waiting for the hubby to do that, but he's been sick so he got a free pass this weekend.

Stolen post!

I read this on fellow blogger Ashley.Unscripted 's blog. I liked it enough that I decided to steal it.

So, If I changed my name, I would be:

MY GANGSTA NAME: (first 3 letters of your first name plus “izzle”) Kriizzle (not quite sure how to pronounce that...)

MY DETECTIVE NAME: (favorite color, favorite animal) Blue Dog (sounds more like a bar.)

MY SOAP OPERA NAME: (middle name, name of one of your pets) Marie Mystie (actually does sound somewhat soap opera-esque!)

MY SUPERHERO NAME: (“The” plus 2nd favorite color, favorite drink) The purple margarita (I guess that sounds better than the answer with my second favorite drink: sex on the beach!)

MY NASCAR NAME: (the first names of your grandfathers) Earl Paul (Yep, I'll win with a name like that!)

MY WITNESS PROTECTION NAME: (mother’s & father’s middle names ) Carole John (I think I met somebody with this name once... do I have a sister out there in the witness protection program?)

MY SPY NAME: (your favorite season/holiday, flower) Autumn Rose (Very nice... No secret is safe with me on the case!)

So there you have it! I think that my favorite is Kriizle even if I don't know how to pronounce it!

Rain in the bathroom.

Today the hubby got himself ready for work just like any other day. He was brushing his teeth and all the sudden was rained on. Hmmm... the bathroom that he was using is in our (finished) basement so no hole in the roof (and luckily not the bathroom that we just finished!)... I woke up a little while later to find the hubby still hadn't left for work. This is so unlike the hubby! The first words out of his mouth? No, not "Good Morning" or anything like that. It was "We got trouble." He led me to the bathroom where my dad and the hubby were tearing the ceiling down. We had a pipe that had apparently been leaking for a while as there is mold and puddles in the ceiling. Luck for us, we know a plumber who does work on the side on the cheap! So, this evening he was here working on replacing the pipe. Also, luckily for me, my parents live nearby and I could go there to take a shower since the hubby turned off the hot water.

Now I'm wondering if the house ghost made it rain in the bathroom. What ghost? Why the one that turns the tv on in the gameroom really loud when the bears are in bed and the hubby, dog, cat, and I are in the livingroom. Yes, this happened a few days ago. The ghost apparently likes football! So, does anybody have any ideas for getting rid of ghosts? Hope he/ she doesn't read my blog! He/ she might be one step ahead of me...
